The Master System Key Starter Kit (DVN4046B*) contains the following components:

1. Master System Key (DS1996L iButton 'programmed' - Qty 1):  A hardware memory element that resembles a fat watch battery.  This element is programmed by Motorola Solutions.  This key can not be directly used as a system key; it is used to create Advanced System keys by the system owner. 

2. Advanced System Key (DS1996L iButton 'Blank' - Qty 5):  A hardware memory element that resembles a fat watch battery.  This element is programmed by the system owner via their CPS System Key Programming Software and allows the system owner to create usable system keys.  The system owner can institute rules that allow users to program radios with limited ID ranges, limited field access, or limited by time.  Once the time limited keys expire, the memory element is disabled for security reasons.  This key is also required to do POP25.

3. Advanced System Key Dongle (Qty 5):  This is a physical hardware key that needs to be connected to the computer running the CPS.  These dongles are available in both a parallel and USB port version.  The dongles are reusable and the Master or Advanced System Keys can be placed inside the dongle.

NOTE: The latest version of CPS must be running on the PC.  This application allows programming of radios and also includes the System Key programming utility.

All Master System Keys (DVN4046B) & I-button replacements (DS1996L) include the following features: 

• 64kb memory
• Unlimited lifetime battery
• Ability to reformat after expiration
• Software based expiration
• Increases number of allowable ranges from 5 to 250
• Ability to incrementally add a system to an existing key, elminating the need to have all master keys present at time of creation

*NOTE: DVN4046B kit and DS1996L blank iButtons are ONLY compatible with XTS/XTL 1500, 2500, 5000 and APX radios.

Effective immediately, the following information is MANDATORY at time of order entry: 

1) System Owner / Manager Contact Info: Name, Email Address, Phone Number

NOTE: For 'new build' systems, where a system owner has not yet been identified, please enter the Project Manager's contact information instead. 

2) Motorola Area Sales Manager Contact Info (ASM): Name, Email Address, Phone Number

3) Motorola Regional Service Manager Contact Info (RSM): Name, Email Address, Phone Number

4) System ID (varies depending on system type): Please provide the ACK ID (advanced conventional ID), ASK HOM ID, Motorola System ID and/or WACN ID (used for third party system requirements). 

System ID format guidelines: 

• 4 digit hexadecimal for System ID
• 5 digital hexadecimal for WACN ID
• The value of '0' for a conventional system

**If multiple system IDs are being ordered in a single kit, all system IDs MUST have the same owner

5) Authorization Form: The Master System Key authorization form must be completed by the system owner (or project manager for 'new build' systems) and submitted with all POs. All forms will be reviewed and validated by Motorola Solutions.
